A Laid-Back + Casual Engagement Shoot in Portland, OR

Reina and Brandon didn’t want a typical engagement shoot. Instead of posed photos, they invited me along for a little glimpse into their everyday life together. Honestly, it felt less like a photoshoot and more like hanging out with friends. But that’s what made it so special! We went all over the city, capturing their casual engagement shoot. We started off the day at Hmart, doing something they already love, grocery shopping together! Sounds simple, right? But with these two, every errand turns into laughter and connection.

Highlighting Portland’s Asian-Owned Gems

After the grocery run, we headed over to Yoonique Pho & Grill for lunch. They both love pho, and this place has become a regular go-to. Not only is the food amazing, but Reina and Brandon were intentional about supporting Asian-owned businesses throughout their session.

Next, we made a quick coffee stop at Phin Cafe PDX. The coffee was great, but what really stood out was how relaxed they were. These weren’t just locations, they were places that meant something to them, and you could feel that in every photo.

Casual Engagement with Downtown Vibes

Even though we had a bit of a plan, we also left room for spontaneity. We strolled around downtown Portland, using little corners of the city as our backdrop. Between laughs and kisses, their casual engagement session turned into something that felt more like a documentary than a photoshoot.

At the end of the day, it wasn’t about perfect poses. It was about them. Their rhythms, their laughter, and the places they love!
